Anabolism Article

When training and pushing muscles to the limit, you are tearing (or tethering) the muscle fibers (microscopic tearing of muscle fibers) and this is sort of a good thing. In order to promote anabolism, you need to experience a certain amount of microscopic tearing. Now, what is actually happening is that the contents of that torn cell spill all over adjacent and neighboring cells damaging the integrity of those cells - this is not the same as tearing... When left untreated, those damaged cells may have a profound impact on delaying recovery signals and processes. The next day you will feel sore, tired and complacent. This is known as the recovery blues.

Think of these muscle cells as living breathing organisms in your body; when you tear them, the contents in the celsl spilt into adjacent areas and onto other muscle cells or connective tissue and are, again, very corrosive to those neighboring muscle cells. Supplying your body with just BCAA, FFAA and Protein is only going to change the environment and provide building blocks for adding amino acids to the muscles that have experienced the microtear. However, what many people fail to realize is that these highly corrosive byproducts that have leaked all over your other muscle cells are now attacking and destroying their integrity. Thus, you can have a domino effect here where the tear of one cell may cause multiple cells to have their integrity compromised and when they release their corrosive byproducts you have a chain reaction.

These corrosive byproducts that have spilled all over are not going to be neutralized with BCAA, FFAA and/or Protein. They can only be neutralized with antioxidants. Many athletes have completely and totally underestimated the influence that these corrosive byproducts have on our ability to recover. For years people thought "Hey, I'm sore lets get some more protein" or "I just need to stretch", thats a very incomplete philosophy and approach. Current literature, as referenced by the doctors of PPP, shows that only using this outdated approach (just supplementing with protein) hinders our ability to optimally recover in the shortest period of time. AntioxCene is the answer to neutralizing these corrosive byproducts and tempering the damage to neighboring muscle cells and, quite possibly, starting the corrosive chain reaction mentioned earlier. Here is what Dr. Lopez of PPP has to say on the matter:

"However, many strength/power athletes, endurance athletes, and bodybuilders have underestimated the role which oxidation, free radicals, and inflammation play in RECOVERY and ADAPTATION from exercise/training stress. Part of what the body needs to do when repairing the exercise-induced micro trauma (microscopic cellular tearing and tethering), is to "mop-up" the damaged tissue and "clean-up" the mess. But, during this process, it creates many unstable free-radicals which forms a chain-reaction that often spirals out of control (analogous to a forest fire!), thus impeding the recovery process. Although the body has a system in place to help keep the "fires" under control (endogenous antioxidant system), this often occurs with a DELAY or lag period in recovery. AntioxCene can be the key to reducing the lag time by acting as the ultimate "firefighting team" to put out the "fires" that burn after your training session. This fire (oxidative, free-radical load) needs to be tempered and "put out" before the repair, recovery, and adaptive training effect (e.g. muscle growth, strength, endurance/stamina) can be achieved. Ultimately, AntioxCene is your ally in fighting and quenching the post-workout "fires", in addition to "mopping up" the muscle cellular mess that follows intense training!"

Another thing about AntioxCene: it also has a multiplier, or synergistic, effect on the other three MNT products by keeping the physiologic/metabolic systems primed. The components of AntioxCene help to "protect" the key biochemical pathways of CreaGen, LeuceMine, and Nitro-E8. In this case, think of it as super motor oil that protects the engine parts from heat, friction, wear and tear, allowing the engine to "rev" higher with improved performance and extended engine life.

Everyone who trains MUST understand that they must put out the blazing fires that rage deep in trained skeletal muscle. Once these fires are put out, muscles recover much faster and more efficiently, which means that they grow quicker and you get stronger. I know this isn't as exciting as a magazine ad featuring a pro athlete who is getting paid tons of money to say he uses this product or that product, BUT this is information that is medically and scientifically sound. It's factual, and if you're looking for information that has a true scientific basis, you've found it.
