Training performance is determined by a number of factors; among them are the quantity of both Creatine Phosphate and ATP. ATP regeneration is a major achievement of CreaGenT. ATP regeneration is accomplished by:

(1) Enhancing flux through oxidative, aerobic pathways of energy metabolism, hence generating more ATP;

(2) Providing increased intra-muscular stores of both free creatine and creatine phosphate.

In a healthy individual, the body produces enough ATP on its own to do most activities. However, without proper nutrition, supplementation, and training, the body won't make enough ATP for progress or change. That's where CreaGen™ comes in - it causes the body to produce enough ATP to support exercise induced demand.





Although there are several individual compounds that together make up CreaGen 6 in particular should be understood.

Creatine - Creatine Monohydrate, Tricreatine b-Hydroxy-b-Methylbutyrate, and Dicreatine Malate, comprise the creatine matrix of CreaGen™. Creatine Monohydrate continues to be at the forefront of performance nutrition as the most widely studied dietary supplement in history . There is a plethora of evidence and data supporting that “the stuff just flat –out works”. Creatine supplementation augments muscle strength, power, size, and explosive performance in repetitive high-intensity activity. Tricreatine-HMB provides a metabolite/intermediate of L-Leucine for improved nitrogen metabolism, anti-catabolism, and inhibition of excessive muscle protein degradation from resistance training stress/demand. Some of the negative data on the efficacy of HMB may have been a result of: insufficient dosing (both individual doses and total dosing time frame for a relatively small effect size); training status of study subjects; and/or exercise protocols utilized. Dicreatine Malate rounds out the creatine matrix by providing a very soluble form of creatine, which may be more bioavailable when compared to others.



Citrulline-Malate (CM) - Citrulline is a non-essential amino acid which can be made from glutamine by enterocytes (cells which line the gut or small intestine), or converted from other amino acids (L-arginine and L-Ornithine) in the body. Citrulline is a key intermediate of the urea cycle, which is a series of biochemical reactions responsible for the excretion of excess nitrogen. To optimize energy metabolism, nitrogen balance, and recovery, excess nitrogen in the form of ammonia must be effectively cleared from the body. Urea synthesis (urea cycle) occurs primarily in the liver to provide the major pathway of detoxifying and eliminating excess nitrogen/ ammonia. The body’s ammonia load and nitrogenous waste increases substantially with increased protein intake and protein turnover from exercise training. Additionally, Citrulline regenerates arginine and increases re-absorption of bicarbonate at the kidney making arginine available for its diverse roles and providing a lactic acid buffer to combat fatigue during intense exercise. Hence, it becomes clear that Citrulline is a versatile recovery agent in the recreational or elite fitness enthusiast.

Citrulline also provides a more bioavailable amino acid than L-Arginine when consumed orally. It is only 2 biochemical steps away from L-Arginine, thereby potentiating the endogenous Arg-NO pathway. NO is a potent signaling molecule involved in aspects of human physiology, which causes vasodilation and increased blood flow through feeder arteries and arterioles to increase nutrient (amino acid) delivery to muscle. In addition, NO may act as a key signal to regulate and match energy supply with energy demand.

Malate is the other compound of the Citrulline-Malate component of CreaGen™. Malate or malic acid is an intermediate of the ever important TCA (tricarboxylic acid) cycle (i.e. Kreb’s cycle). The TCA cycle is responsible for generating “reducing equivalents” that are used to drive oxidative phosphorylation and ATP synthesis in the presence of oxygen. Malate is an important regulator of the flux in the TCA cycle, since it is catalyzed into oxaloacetate (OAA), which is a major factor the rate of aerobic energy (ATP) production. This provides the rationale for some clinical observations of decreased sense of fatigue, and enhanced energy levels in subjects supplemented with Malate. In a study utilizing CM supplementation versus placebo for 18c in healthy men complaining of easy fatigueability, resulted in a greater rate of oxidative ATP production during exercise and phosphocreatine recovery after exercise. Taken together, there is strong evidence suggesting CM has a unique ability to “ramp up” muscular energetics, clear the muscle of metabolic wastes, and enhance recovery from heavy, intense training.

Acetyl-L-Carnitine (ALCAR) - ALCAR is a unique, bioavailable version of the amino acid L-Carnitine. It appears to play a role in stabilizing and improving mitochondrial function within metabolically active tissue. There are actually some track & field/ speed-strength athletes who anecdotally claim that it helps them with running and jumping performance. In addition, ALCAR may optimize the function of tissues that are heavily dependent on fatty acid metabolism, including: skeletal muscle, CNS (central nervous system), adrenal glands, gonadal tissues, and heart. A few interesting studies have implicated ALCAR in optimizing the neuro-endocrine system with increased LH (luetenizing hormone) and testosterone, while avoiding HPG axis interruption. Another study on HIV/AIDS patients revealed a significant increase in IGF-1 levels after 5 months of supplementation at 3grams daily.
